Air / water coolers are steel housings with built-in cooling coils. The air / water coolers are mainly used in the electromechanical industry for cooling when:
- normal surface cooling is insufficient
- a protection class like IP54 is required
The KLIMA constructions are built on or against the generators, electromotors or transformers.
The capacity, dimensions and mounting possibilities of the housings on the machine in question are agreed on in consultation. In general, compact high yield heat exchanger coils are used with removable water covers, equipped with single tube type KDLE or with double tube type KDLD.
Depending on the application one or more cooling coils are placed either horizontally or vertically. The air-side of the installation can the be either parallel or in series if reserve capacity (redundancy) is required. For materials and design of the cooling coils see section: Coils
